The warrior trains before the war begins.

No soldier waits until battle to learn his weapon. No swordsman develops technique while the enemy charges. The training happens in peace so that skill is available in crisis.

This is why daily Scripture engagement matters even when you are not in crisis.

You may feel strong today. No major temptation assails you. No devastating trial tests you. Life is stable, and the sword seems unnecessary.

This is precisely when you must train.

The enemy watches. He waits. He studies your patterns, identifies your weaknesses, calculates the moment of maximum vulnerability. And when he strikes, he will not announce himself. There will be no warning, no preparation time, no opportunity to get ready.

You must be ready before.

The verses you memorize in calm seasons are the verses that will save you in storms. The Scripture you meditate on during peace is the truth that will anchor you in chaos. The sword skills you develop when no enemy is visible are the skills that will keep you alive when the enemy attacks.

Discipline yourself now.

Do not wait for crisis to motivate you. Do not wait until you are drowning to learn to swim. Train your mind in the Word today, while training is still possible.

The battle is coming. Be ready.

PRAYER: Lord, I confess I have been lazy in seasons of peace. I have neglected training when no battle was visible. Forgive me. Give me discipline to engage Your Word daily, whether in crisis or calm. Let me train now so I am ready then. In Jesus' name. Amen.

ACTION: Set a daily time for Scripture—even if it is only ten minutes. Guard that time ruthlessly. Train before the battle comes.
