The sword must be passed down.
You are not fighting only for yourself. You are fighting for generations. Children who watch you will learn how to wield the Word by watching how you wield it. A legacy of faith is built on a legacy of Scripture.
Teach them diligently.
This is not a suggestion for religious families. It is a command for all who name the name of Christ. The Word of God must be transmitted to the next generation—not through programs alone, not through churches alone, but through parents who talk of Scripture when they sit in the house.
Speak it at meals. Speak it in the car. Speak it at bedtime. Let your children hear you quote Scripture so often that they cannot imagine life without it. Let them see you turn to the Word in crisis so that they learn to do the same.
The enemy is after your children. He has designed an entire culture to capture their minds, to fill them with lies before truth has a chance to take root. He wants them unarmed, unaware, unable to fight the battles that await them.
You must arm them.
The verses you teach your children today are the swords they will draw tomorrow. The Scripture you plant in their hearts will bear fruit for decades. The Word you model will become their model.
Do not leave them defenseless.
PRAYER: Lord, I am fighting for generations. Help me teach Your Word diligently to my children—in the house, on the road, at every opportunity. Let them see me wield the sword so they learn to wield it themselves. Arm the next generation through me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
ACTION: If you have children, teach them one verse this week. If you do not, pray for an opportunity to pass Scripture to someone younger in faith.
