The evil day is coming.
Not evil days in general—we live in those constantly. But the evil day. Your evil day. The concentrated assault, the perfect storm, the moment when everything that can go wrong does, when the enemy brings all his forces to bear on the single point of your life.
It is coming. It may already be here.
The evil day does not announce itself. It does not send advance notice or schedule itself into your calendar. It arrives when you least expect it—or precisely when you should have expected it. Promotion and devastation often travel together. Breakthrough invites backlash. Every significant step forward draws fire from the enemy who does not want you advancing.
The armor is for this day.
You do not wear armor because of sunny days. You wear it because of the evil day. You do not train because combat is enjoyable. You train because survival depends on it. The whole armor of God is designed for the specific purpose of enabling you to withstand when everything is designed to make you fall.
Withstand. This is the goal. Not necessarily to advance—though that will come. Not to destroy the enemy in a single stroke—though that victory is certain. For now, the goal is to withstand. To remain standing when everything says you should fall. To still be on your feet when the assault finally ends.
The soldier who withstands the evil day will see victory. But he must withstand. He must endure. He must not break.
The evil day is coming. Perhaps it is here.
Are you armored?
PRAYER: Lord, I know the evil day is coming—perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps it has already begun. I take up the whole armor. I prepare to withstand. Whatever comes, help me remain standing. I will not break. I will not fall. I will endure until You bring victory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
